A Four-Week College Essay Bootcamp

Your personal statement, written as only you can.

Whether you’ve chosen your topic or aren’t sure where to start, I can help you figure out what you want to convey to a college admissions team—and how to do it in a clear, compelling way that reflects your unique voice and perspective.

About the workshop

I’m a professional writer and editor who works with writers of all ages and experience levels, both individually and in workshops, on essays, personal statements, and creative projects. My approach demystifies the writing process by sharing practical tools and a few fundamental storytelling principles that can immediately strengthen your work.

Over four Saturday mornings, you’ll develop a distinctive personal statement through creative exercises, group discussions, structured writing, and private feedback.  I’ll guide you through the writing process with prompts and regular check-ins, helping you make progress on your essay each week.

With manageable assignments between sessions, my goal is for you to leave with a polished personal statement that reflects your unique voice and perspective.

A Supportive, private writing environment

A Supportive Space

This is a supportive, small-group environment, not a traditional peer-review workshop. You’ll have opportunities to participate and talk about your ideas, but sharing your work is always optional. Students will not be asked to review or critique one another’s essays. Your drafts and feedback will remain private between you and me.

Along with the group sessions, each student will receive two private, 15-minute editorial consultations with me to discuss their ideas, review their progress, and get personalized guidance.
